Абулкасимова Нодира Мирзакаримовна
Annotatsiya
This article is devoted to the analysis of the euphemistic representation of the concept of “poverty” in a literary text, since the verbalization of this concept in many cases occurs on the basis of euphemisms. According to the data we have identified, the concept of “poverty” is associated with such concepts as infection, dirt, miserable place, unhappiness, which manifest the individual author's picture of the world. The combination of all these concepts creates the concept sphere, which is demonstrated in the illustration. In the literary text we have chosen, euphemisms perform such functions as giving the language a literary form, expressing politeness, deceiving, creating an ironic effect, softening unpleasant information. In our study, we tried to determine the function of each euphemistic nomination that replaces the identified concepts. For our study, we chose the work of Judice Walter Levit "Typhoid Mary".
