The history of the Shia communities living today in Central Asia, along with other small religious communities, i.e. their penetration into Central Asia, their formation as a community, their way of life, their place in our history, customs, traditions, beliefs is still not studied deeply and systematically from the point of view of historiography, Islamic studies, ethnography and culture of Uzbekistan. The article is devoted to an overview of the history and culture of Shiite communities represented by the “Ironi” ethnic group living in Uzbekistan. Because the Shiite communities have played a significant role in the political, socio-cultural life of Central Asia for centuries and are inextricably linked with other religious communities living in the region.
