The article deals with the problem of the relationship of languages in the process of historical development. It mentions that the Hunnic Empire was formed as a result of the unification of Turkic-speaking nomadic tribes. It is noted that the Huns conquered the lands of European regions, starting from the Gobi desert and the Siberian taiga. It presents scientific considerations that the Turkic language had a serious influence on the Slavic and Romano-Germanic languages. In the history of mankind, it has been noted that there are different forms of influence of one language on another. These include military conflicts, economic and cultural ties. In turn, in this process one can see the emergence of substrate or superstrate phenomena. In the article, we focused more on the second of the above phenomena – the superstrate phenomenon. Because the language and culture of the Turks had a great influence on the peoples of Europe.
