This article presents information on scientific research related to agricultureduring the years of Soviet power not only in the Fergana Valley, but also in the entire Uzbek SSR,and their positive results. Cotton is one of the important sectors of agriculture in our republic.Attention should be paid to the issues of further improving the culture of farming, increasingproductivity through the widespread introduction of scientific and technical achievements andScientific and technical development in agriculture is progressing  directions. The basis of scientific and technical development is the complex mechanization and automation of production. This is clearly evident, first of all, in the emergence of qualitativelynew machines and their systems, which determine the material and technical base of agriculture
