Samiev, Siroj, Ochilova, Guli
Annotatsiya
Yellow tourism - provisionally defined here as tourism oriented toward affective brightness, festivity, and the deliberatecultivation of hedonic experience - occupies an under-theorised position within the broader taxonomy of tourism types. This articleexamines the conceptual foundations, socio-cultural mechanics, and economic dimensions of yellow tourism through a multidisciplinarylens, drawing on consumer psychology, tourism geography, and cultural theory. The argument proceeds in three movements: first, bysituating yellow tourism within existing typological frameworks and exposing the limitations of prevailing affect-neutral classifications;second, by interrogating the spectatorial and participatory logics that govern festive travel behaviour; and third, by assessing theproductive tensions between community wellbeing and the commodification of collective joy
