The article provides a historical analysis of the formation and transformation of the literary environment in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Bukhara region, during 1990–1999. Within the context of the transition period marked by political, socio-economic, and cultural changes, the study reveals transformations in the institutional structure of the literary environment, its social functions, and regional characteristics. The research is based on official documents, periodical publications, oral history materials, and scholarly literature.
