COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN DIFFERENCES, ADVANTAGES, AND DISADVANTAGES OF CONVENTIONAL AND ISLAMIC BANKING SERVICES

This article provides a comparative analysis of the economic nature, operating principles, advantages, and disadvantages of conventional and Islamic banking services. The study examines financing mechanisms, income generation methods, risk management approaches, and customer relationship models in both banking systems. In addition, the global market shares of conventional and Islamic finance, development trends, and the structural composition of the Islamic finance industry are analyzed based on statistical data. A SWOT analysis is employed to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of both banking models. The findings indicate that the conventional financial system continues to dominate the global financial market, while Islamic finance demonstrates rapid growth and increasing demand for Shariah-compliant financial services. Based on the research findings, scientific and practical recommendations are proposed for the development of Islamic banking services within the banking system of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
