THE MEANING OF PET IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF CHRONIC CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASES (ANALYTICAL LITERATURE REVIEW)

Chronic forms of cerebrovascular diseases are currently a catastrophic social and medical problem. Modern diagnostic methods, the tasks of which are to study the activity of brain centers that reflect information processing are (electrophysiological - EEG, neuroimaging - fMRI, PET, etc.), widely used by specialists - neurologists. The presented literature review shows modern views on the problem of cerebrovascular disorders, substantiates the need to improve diagnostics at the pre-stage of development of these disorders. The role of PET in diagnostics is considered, as well as the most widely used methods of structural neuroimaging for assessing cognitive functions.
