Stroke is an acute cerebrovascular accident resulting in persistent focal brain damage. Post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression can signal the severity of the disease, thereby facilitating timely treatment adjustments A relationship has been established between the blood biomarkers DGLA, PLA2GE2, PADI4, and miR-21, whose levels may signal the outcome of rehabilitation procedures. This requires a systematic approach to their study.. Although numerous potential stroke bio- markers have been recently proposed, none have yet found application in routine clinical practice.
