The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the exterior, milk productivity, milk composition, and interrelationships between economically beneficial traits in Schwyz cows of various breeds. During the research, the exterior indicators, selection traitsfor milk productivity, and their correlation in Swiss breeds of German and Austrian selection were studied. According to the results obtained, the milk productivity of Swiss German breed cows exceeded III-lactation was 7038,3 kg, which was 774,6 kg or 12,4% higher than their peers of the Austrian breed (P<0,01). They also had a higher milk fat yield of 28,3 kg or 11,1% (P<0,01), protein yield of 25,7 kg or 11,5% (P<0,01), 4% milk content of 707,9 kg or 11,1% (P<0,001), and milk yield coefficient of 169,7 kg or 17,4% (P<0,001). Analysis of the correlation coefficients between economically beneficial traits in cow milk productivity showed a high positive correlation between milk yield and selection traits such as milk fat and protein yield (r=0,989 and 0,968; 0,926 and 0,913), 4% milk content (r=0,987 and 0,968), and milk yield (r=0,924 and 0,917). According to the results obtained, conducting breeding work with German-bred cows is of great importance for creating highly productive herds and improving the livestock population.
