This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical foundations of the acting system developed by K. S. Stanislavsky and its role in theatrical art. In particular, the essence of the five main principles of the system - stage truth, the principle of "if", the focus of attention, emotional memory and the method of physical movements, their role in the creative process and application in theatrical practice are covered from a scientific point of view. The influence of the system on world theatrical art and the formation of the Uzbek theatrical school is also discussed in detail.
