AMIR TEMUR AND SHAKHRISABZ: HISTORICAL HERITAGE AND MODERN DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
This article analyzes the historical connection between Amir Temur and the city of Shahrisabz, as well as the revival of his legacy during the years of independence and the city’s historical and cultural development. The study examines state programs implemented during the 660th anniversary of Amir Temur (1996) and the 2700th anniversary of Shahrisabz (2002), restoration projects, and international initiatives. Special attention is paid to the inclusion of the Historic Centre of Shahrisabz in the World Heritage List of UNESCO and its role in strengthening Uzbekistan’s international cultural standing.
