This article analyzes the state of pension provision and social welfare policies implemented by the Soviet authorities in the Khorezm region during 1945–1956. The study highlights the absence of a unified mechanism for pension provision in the post-war period, deficiencies in the activities of social welfare institutions, and cases of public dissatisfaction. It also reveals, based on archival sources, the uneven implementation of pension provision in urban and rural areas of the region, particularly the exclusion of collective farm workers (kolkhoz members) from the pension system. The article provides a scholarly analysis of the formation of the pension provision system in the Khorezm region within the context of territorial and social disparities.
