As you know, today we live in the information world. In school, at work and in daily activities, we are faced with computer technology, and without them we cannot imagine our day. It is necessary to give students a deep knowledge in the field of computer science and information technology, teach them to use computers and other technical means correctly and rationally. Pupils should have the necessary information and be able to use the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities to solve problems in their daily life. To do this, they need to be trained based on a competent approach. The article discusses the structure of the level of formation of the competence "Working with information", which is included in the basic competencies of students of secondary schools.
