The article discusses the importance of musical dramaturgy in William Shakespeare's tragedy "Romeo and Juliet." The use of music and sound effects to enhance emotional impact, create the atmosphere, and reveal the characters' personalities is discussed. The influence of Shakespeare's tragedy on the development of vocal art, particularly opera and ballet music, is being studied. It is noted that the composers and librettists, inspired by "Romeo and Juliet," depicted a tragic love story using vocal and instrumental instruments.
