Abstract
This article analyzes one of the traditional musical instruments widely found in the region of Karakalpakstan the gijjak focusing on its origin, structure, and performance characteristics. In addition, the study highlights the role of the gijjak in Karakalpak folk music, its harmony with other instruments, and the distinctive features of its performance styles, all on a scientific basis. The article is of significant importance for the study of national musical heritage and its transmission to younger generations.
