This article provides information on the meaning, methods, concepts, content and essence of the formation of environmental culture, which is an important factor in environmental education and upbringing in the system of continuous education. The main attention is paid to the criteria that determine the national values of environmental culture in the organization of continuous environmental education in preschool education, primary education, general secondary education, and secondary specialized and vocational education, higher and postgraduate education.
