Abstract
This article examines the history of the organization and development of the Information and Library Center of the Republic of Karakalpakstan as one of the largest cultural and information centers in the region. Based on archival materials, statistical data, and memoirs of library staff, the main stages of its formation, the dynamics of the book collection growth, and the transformation of its functions in the context of digitalization are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the role of the library in the development of spiritual culture and the formation of a unified information space. The study identifies both achievements and challenges related to collection development and modernization of library activities.
