Abstract
The article shows new methods of purification of naphthenic acids from unsaponifiable components and phenols. Also, purified salts of naphthenic acids react with a 25% hydrochloric acid solution, naphthenic acids and the aqueous layer are removed with petroleum ether, the extract is washed with a saturated sodium chloride solution and distilled water until neutral. After drying the acids with anhydrous sodium sulfate, the petroleum ether is distilled off first on a water bath at atmospheric pressure and then the residue under vacuum at 2.66 kPa. The acids are separated into fractions at 0.27-0.53 kPa. At the same time, they are purified from impurities of resins and obtained in the form of pale yellow transparent oils containing no more than 1% of unsaponifiable substances. The yield of purified fractions is determined on the basis of experiments and is 94-97%.
