SORPTION-PHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF NICKEL IONS IN ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECTS

Abstract
The article presents a method of sorption-photometric determination of nickel ions using a new azoreagent 2-(5-methylpyridylazo-2¢-hydroxy-5¢-methoxybenzene. Optimal conditions were found: the influence of the nature and concentration of buffer mixtures, the interfering effect of foreign ions on the determination of nickel with 2-(5-methylpyridylazo-2¢-hydroxy-5¢-methoxybenzene was investigated. The proposed method is evaluated metrologically, the lower limit of the determined nickel content is found with a relative standard deviation of 0.014. A sorption-photometric method for determining nickel ions is proposed. The analysis method was applied to the determination of nickel ions in process waters, steels, and bronze and the effect of accompanying ions on the accuracy of its detection was studied.
