DETERMINATION OF WATER-SOLUBLE VITAMINS CONTAINED IN LEMON BALM (MELISSA OFFICINALIS L) PLANT BY HPLC METHOD

Аннотация
This article is focused on analyzing the vitamin content of the plant lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L), which is known for its ability to substitute synthetic drugs used in the treatment of nervous system disorders. The amount of vitamins in the extract of lemon balm, dissolved in a 0.1 N aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, was determined using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and the vitamin content was found to be as follows: B1 - 22.348 mg/g, B9 - 16.3 mg/g, B6 - 1.778 mg/g, C - 1.778 mg/g, B3 - 1.778 mg/g, B2 - 0.950 mg/g, PP - 0.091 mg/g. This confirms that the plant can be considered among promising medicinal plants for the development of effective remedies for the prevention and treatment of nervous system disorders.
