Аннотация
Macrophages play a crucial role in the immune response of the body, including protection against infections and maintaining homeostasis. However, in the context of oncological diseases, macrophages can have both anti-oncogenic and proliferative properties that contribute to tumor growth. The morphology and functions of macrophages in the tumor microenvironment are key aspects for understanding the mechanisms leading to tumor progression. Studying macrophages in oncology opens new perspectives for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating their activity to suppress tumor growth. This paper explores key changes in the morphology and function of macrophages in tumor tissues, as well as their role in tumor progression and potential therapeutic approaches.
