INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO NEUROVISUALIZATION FOR TUMORS OF FUNCTIONALLY IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE BRAIN IN CHILDREN

The aim of the study was to optimize the surgical treatment of tumors in the functionally significant areas of the brain in children based on modern neuroimaging methods. The work used MRI, MR-tractography, and neuronavigation to accurately determine the tumor localization, as well as to plan and evaluate the scope of neurosurgical intervention. Examination and surgical treatment of 60 children aged 3 to 16 years were carried out, among whom 30 patients had standard MRI, and 30 had additional MR-tractography and neuronavigation. Indicators such as the radical removal of the tumor, postoperative neurological complications, and quality of life were assessed. The results showed that in the group using MR-tractography, the severity of removal was 86.7% (compared to 66.7% in the control group), and the frequency of complications decreased by 23%. Thus, the use of MR-tractography and neuronavigation allows for minimizing the trauma of the intervention and improving the prognosis.
