Functional Morphology of the Blood-brain and Liquor-encephalic Barriers of the Brain Under Physiological Conditions

Annotatsiya
The article summarizes data from contemporary scientific literature devoted to the functional morphology of the biological barriers of the brain. It provides a detailed description of the structural components and functional roles of the blood–brain barrier (BBB) and the blood–cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BCSFB), which play a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis. It is noted that further studies of the functional organization of biological barriers in experimental animals under physiological conditions and during various intoxications—particularly intoxications caused by pesticides widely used in agriculture—will help identify the pathophysiological and pathomorphological mechanisms underlying damage to the structures of the BBB and BCSFB.
