CORRECTING OSTEOTOMY TO TREAT COXA VARA PATHOLOGY IN ADOLESCENTS

Surgical treatment of hip joint disorders is one of the most traditional and pressing issues in orthopedics. Corrective osteotomy is considered highly effective and, as a relatively minor procedure, is recommended for wider use. This article presents the surgical technique and outcomes of a study in adolescents with congenital coxa vara. All patients underwent subtrochanteric wedge osteotomy using the technique developed at the Uzbekistan Republic Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics. The surgical procedure involved 31 adolescent patients with unilateral lesions, aged 10 to 18 years. Of these, 19 (61%) were girls and 12 (38%) were boys. The average age of the patients was 15 years. The age range was from 10 to 18 years. This surgical treatment achieved satisfactory radiographic and clinical results, and no signs of recurrence were detected during follow-up.
