MIXED SALIVA CRYSTALLIZATION WHEN BONE FEATHER MINERALIZATION IS IMPAIRED

Saliva has a liquid-crystalline structure and participates in the processes of enamel mineralization and demineralization. The mineralizing function of oral fluid is carried out due to the presence of Ca₃(PO₄)₂ micelles and their protection from glycoprotein–mucin aggregation, resulting in a branched structure. When saliva dries, the mucin matrix forms the base, and fluoroxyapatite crystals develop branching. In osteopenic syndrome, an imbalance in the bone remodeling process leads to disturbances in mineral metabolism in bone tissue and causes demineralization. Therefore, studying the transformation of salivary crystals in such patients has important diagnostic significance.
