This article summarizes current data on the impact of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) on patients who have experienced an acute myocardial infarction (AMI), examines the barriers to its effective implementation, and assesses the potential of innovative strategies to expand the coverage and increase the effectiveness of CR programs. Cardiac rehabilitation is vital for post-AMI recovery, but it necessitates the development of strategies to increase participation and adherence to treatment. Future research should focus on optimizing CR strategies to provide more effective care for patients with heart disease. Technological advancements, in turn, are creating promising opportunities for developing more individualized and convenient CR programs.
