CURRENT STATE OF THE MANAGEMENT OF INFECTED WOUNDS

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to improve the therapeutic outcomes in patients with purulent surgical diseases of the soft tissues of the upper and lower extremities through the application of wound hyperventilation using a directed oxygen flow. Materials and Methods. The present study analyzed the clinical findings and treatment outcomes of 122 patients diagnosed with purulent diseases of the extremities. Among them, 68 patients were included in Group I (comparison group), where conventional treatment methods were applied. Group II (the main group) consisted of 54 patients who, in addition to standard therapy, received wound hyperventilation using directed oxygen flow. Conclusion. The incorporation of wound hyperventilation with oxygen flow into the comprehensive treatment regimen for patients with purulent soft tissue diseases of the extremities significantly improved treatment outcomes and accelerated wound healing dynamics. The method promoted faster wound cleansing, earlier resolution of inflammatory infiltration, rapid granulation tissue formation, and accelerated epithelialization. These findings confirm the high therapeutic potential and clinical effectiveness of local oxygen hyperventilation in the комплексive management of purulent soft tissue infections.
