Evaluation of emal microhardness of extracted teeth before and after Vikkers remineralizing therapy using a microhardmer

Abstract
50 intact premolars were divided into 5 groups (n = 10): I - fluoride (lacquer with 5% NaF), II - CPP-ACP paste (casein-phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate), III - CPP-ACP with fluoride (CPP-ACPF), IV - dental paste with nanohydroxyapatite, V - control (distilled water). At the initial stage, the basic microhardness of the enamel (Vickers, load 100 g, 15 s) was measured to confirm the homogeneity of the groups. Then, the samples were subjected to artificial demineralization (72 hours, pH 4.5) to simulate the initial carious lesions, after which the microhardness was measured again. For 14 days, remineralizing therapy was administered: daily appropriate preparations were applied (lacquers - once at the beginning, pastes - daily for 5 minutes), with samples stored in synthetic saliva. Repeated microhardness measurements were performed after 7 and 14 days of therapy.
