Improvement of modern diagnostics of oropharyngeal cancer and its treatment methods

Abstract

Analysis of the study results showed that determining the serum concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with oropharyngeal cancer, which in combination with immunological indicators helps diagnose severe forms of the disease, is also significant in predicting the risk of recurrence. A comprehensive approach to immunodiagnosis, virological diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of the disease course was applied, based on indicators of immune status, virological characteristics of the Epstein-Barr virus, and vascular endothelial growth factor levels.
