Clinical and epidemiological research methods and criteria for planned treatment of children with enamel hypoplasia

Аннотация
In addition to the main clinical and laboratory research methods, the prevalence, intensity, and progression of enamel hypoplasia were studied in 132 children born under the influence of hormonal drugs during pregnancy. In these children, the state of oral hygiene was also examined, along with the level of knowledge of patients, their parents, and teachers regarding proper oral hygiene practices. Extensive preparatory work and appropriate organizational measures made it possible to carry out dental examinations accurately within a minimal timeframe. The results of mass dental screenings were recorded in an “individual card.” The oral cavity examination in children was performed according to generally accepted clinical methods. The condition of the existing teeth was studied, beginning with the upper jaw from right to left, followed by the lower jaw from left to right.
