EVALUATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE TEST WITH LETROZOLE IN PATIENTS WITH POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME

This article provides an analysis of the evaluation of the results of the test with letrozole in women of reproductive age with polycystic ovary syndrome in Uzbekistan. The aim of the study was to evaluate the functional activity of the ovaries in women of reproductive age with different PCOS phenotypes when using the P450 aromatase inhibitor letrozole. Material and methods. The study examined 41 women of reproductive age from 19 to 35 years with various PCOS phenotypes. Patients were diagnosed with PCOS and its phenotypes in accordance with the recommendations of the Rotterdam Consensus (2003). In order to determine and study the functional activity of the ovaries in patients, a functional test was performed. The test was performed using the aromatase inhibitor letrozole. To assess the aromatase activity of follicles, the following coefficient was used according to the formula: K = DE2/AMH, where K is the coefficient of aromatase activity of antral ovarian follicles; DE2 - decrease in serum estradiol by nmol / l 48 hours after taking letrozole; AMH - the amount of anti-Müllerian hormone in the blood in ng / ml. Results and its discussion. Analysis of the results of the study shows that in patients with PCOS there was a variability in the aromatase activity of follicles: in 21.6% of patients it was within the normal range, in 29.6% of patients it was increased, in 48.8% of patients it decreased in percentage. Depending on the aromatase activity of the follicles, patients with different PCOS phenotypes were divided into three groups: with low, unchanged, and high aromatase activity.Conclusion The results of the study indicate a different degree of activity of the cytochrome p-450 aromatase enzyme in polycystic ovary syndrome. Relative deficiency of ovarian aromatase can be determined with different frequency depending on the phenotype of the disease.
