TYPOLOGY OF EVALUATIVE MEANINGS OF LEXICAL UNITS OF KAZAKH MEDIA DISCOURSE

This article systematically examines contemprorary approaches to describing the typology of evaluative meanings in media discourse. The relevance of studying the typology of evaluative meanings of lexical units stems from the fact that evaluative language plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion, reflecting dominant societal value orientations, and influencing the interpretation of political, cultural, and social processes. The aim of the study is to identify and describe the main types of evaluative meanings exhibited by lexical units functioning in Kazakhstani media discourse, taking into account their semantic, pragmatic, and communicative load. The study identifies the most relevant classifications of evaluative units, including axiological, emotional, descriptive-evaluative, comparative-contrastive, and contextual types. An analysis of axiological values enables a deeper understanding of the expressed attitudes and evaluative strategies,while the examination of the emotional component makes it possible to determine the degree and intensity of affective expression within media utterances. The analysis of descriptiveevaluative semantic components of allows for the identification of various properties of an object. A comparative-contrastive approach to the study of evaluative meanings makes it possible to correlate the semantics of a specific word with abstract concepts and properties. A contextual examination of evaluative meanings allows them to be classified into general linguistic and individual units. The classifications presented in the article allow for the identification of a variety of evaluative meanings present in media discourse. The novelty of the study lies in its focused analysis of evaluative lexical meanings within the Kazakhstani media space The methodological framework includes analytical, synthetic, descriptive-classificatory, and comparative methods, as well as observation and empirical analysis.
