Abstract
The scientific article analyzes the sequence and criteria for selecting optimal absorbents or their combinations for the selective removal of acidic components from natural gas, as well as challenges within absorption-based purification technology. The application of mono- and diethanolamine solutions for the absorption of hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, and mercaptans has been investigated. An optimal alkanolamine composition for column-type absorbers has been developed. Experimental studies led to the synthesis of new combined absorbents by adding ethers to MEA and DEA solutions. Different ratios of MEA and DEA were tested, and results demonstrated the efficiency of natural gas purification from acidic components.
