Аннотатсия
Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) is the true visceral adipose tissue of the heart, which normally makes up 20% of cardiac mass. The fact that adipose tissue performs not only a thermal insulation function, but also an energy storage function (in the form of triglycerides) has been known for more than 30 years. Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a complex condition characterized by high morbidity and mortality, often within the context of multiple comorbidities such as obesity. The pathophysiology of HFpEF involves emerging evidence that epicardial adipose tissue (ЭЖТ) or epicardial fat has an important function.
