THE EFFECT OF EXPERIMENTAL THYROTOXICOSIS ON THE PATHOMORPHOLOGY AND FUNCTION OF THE PANCREAS (Review article)

The article presents a study of changes in the pancreas in thyrotoxicosis. A detailed analysis of ultrastructural changes in the cells of the exocrine and endocrine parts of the organ is carried out. The results are of practical importance for endocrinology and gastroenterology. It is shown that thyroid dysfunction causes systemic disorders in the body, affecting the functioning of many organs, including the pancreas. Despite this, pathomorphological and morphofunctional changes in the pancreatic parenchyma in thyrotoxicosis remain insufficiently studied. It has been established that the function of the pancreas is regulated by many hormones, among which thyroid hormones play a significant role.
