This article proposes an IoT-based automatic system for smart homes that is designed for early fire detection and prevention. The system is built on an Arduino Uno platform and continuously monitors the environment using an MQ-2 smoke sensor and a DHT11 temperature sensor. If smoke and temperature simultaneously reach a dangerous level, the system detects a fire condition and automatically activates a buzzer, a water pump, and an exhaust fan. This approach not only enables rapid fire detection but also reduces the number of false alarms. The article describes the system architecture, operating algorithm, mathematical model, and prototype design. Experimental results showed that the proposed two-sensor method is significantly more reliable and effective than a conventional single-sensor system. Therefore, this system can serve as a practical, low-cost, and efficient fire safety solution for smart homes.
