Adaptive enhancement and evaluation of degraded digital images based on unfuzzy quality maps
Мамарауфов, О.А., Маккамова, Д.А.
Annotaciya
The article proposes an adaptive enhancement algorithm for degraded digital images based on fuzzy local quality maps. In practical images, low contrast, noise, illumination non-uniformity, contour blur, and artifacts coexist. Therefore, applying one global operator uniformly to the entire image leads to over-enhancement in some areas and loss of useful detail in others. In the proposed TasvirIQ approach, the degradation map, local quality map, noise, illumination non-uniformity, useful detail, artifact, and uncertainty labels are used as information controlling the operators. The weights of the contrast enhancement, noise reduction, illumination normalization, and structure preservation operators for each local area are determined by a fuzzy rule base. The results were evaluated in terms of contrast, gradient, entropy, noise control, saturation, contour preservation, and integral quality index.
