Abstract
The effects of sowing dates (June 20, July 1, July 10), seeding rates (1.0-3.0 mln seeds ha⁻¹), and methods on daily stem growth of buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) cv. 'Ilishevskaya' grown as a secondary crop were studied on typical long-term irrigated sierozem soils of the Tashkent region. Peak growth was recorded during the budding-flowering stage (2.40-2.80 cm day⁻¹). Increased seeding rate enhanced growth from 1.74 to 1.95 cm day⁻¹ due to stem elongation caused by light deficiency. Late sowing (July 10) reduced growth from 1.69 to 1.31 cm day⁻¹ during the flowering-pod formation period.
