PRINCE TIMURID MUHAMMAD SULTAN AND ALISHER NAVOI

Abstract
The great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi has been famous since his youth in the land of Khurasan, where he was born and raised. From ordinary people to Timurid rulers, they read his poems with love. One of such lovers of poetry is Timurid mirza Muhammad Sultan. The poet respectfully mentions the name of the Timurid prince in the Preface of his poem «Badoyi ul-Bidaya». According to information, the Timurid mirzas headed by Muhammad Sultan took Navoi's poems before the ink was dry, enjoyed reading them and copied them on white paper and distributed them among poetry lovers. The most interesting thing is that dozens of mirzas named Muhammad Sultan lived among the descendants of Amir Temur. In this scientific article, there is a debate about which Timurid prince was meant by Muhammad Sultan in the preface of Navoi's « Badoyi ul-Bidaya» divan.
