Аннотатсия
The functional purpose of the supports is the transfer of vertical and horizontal loads to the ground, including the weight of structures of superstructures, devices of the bridge bed on highways, structural loads of mobile temporary vehicles, wind and seismic impacts. In ancient times, until the middle of the 19th century, wooden and stone supports were mainly used in the construction of the bridge. Wooden supports were used for wooden and metal span bridges. The advantages of wooden supports are: simplicity of construction, the possibility of using local materials and their relatively small consumption, and the opposite disadvantages are the formation of brittle deformations, increased fire hazard. Currently, the circle of wooden supports is limited to temporary bridges. Stone supports made of natural or artificial stone are very strong, the age of the oldest supports that have survived to this day exceeds thousands of years. In the literature on the design and construction of stone pillars, the term “Stone bridges” is usually used, because, after all, all devices are built of stone. Empirically determined dimensions of stone bridge supports were 1/3 of the span structure, and their stability in cases of unbalanced push was provided only by the own weight of the devices. Often the supports are erected using various types of lime binder materials.
