When studying the interaction of the current collector and the contact suspension, they are considered as an oscillatory system. The calculation of such a system is very complicated. The application of force to any point of a simple suspension causes waves to appear in the wire, which are reflected from its suspension points in whole or in part. The reverse waves are superimposed on the straight ones, greatly complicating the process. With movable points of suspension of the wire, reflection occurs partially. The contact wire of the chain suspension is suspended on strings, which practically do not limit the upward deviation and somewhat delay the downward deviation. In both cases, vibrations also occur in the carrier cable, which are transmitted through the strings to the contact wire. It is not yet possible to take into account the entire complex process of fluctuations. The difficulties encountered in solving this problem force researchers to make significant simplifications when constructing the initial model. The suspension response to pressing the pantograph consists of two parts — static and dynamic. The dynamic calculation of the interaction between the suspension and the pantograph is very complicated, and, apparently, this is the beginning of the way to solve it.
