Innovative Development in Railway Transport: Theoretical Foundations, Life Cycle, and Practical Directions

In this article, the theoretical foundations, life cycle, and classification of innovative development in the railway transport sector are examined, and its strategic importance for sustainable economic growth is substantiated. The study is based on the scientific views of Schumpeter, Drucker, and Scherer. These authors interpret innovation as the main driving force for renewing economic structures, ensuring competitive advantage, and increasing sectoral efficiency. The article pays special attention to the role of implementing ESG principles, digitalization, automation, and safety management systems. In addition, it analyzes technological modernization directions such as energy-saving solutions, intelligent control systems, the use of blockchain in freight logistics, and digital ticketing services. The life cycle of innovation in the railway sector is presented in five stages: initiation, stabilization, growth, maturity (peak), and new wave.
