Abstract
The article discusses engineering, aerodynamic and operational approaches to improving the designs of wind power plants intended for power supply of railway transport facilities in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The relevance of using wind power plants as part of autonomous and distributed power supply systems for railway infrastructure, including stations, way posts, alarm systems, centralization and communications, as well as auxiliary facilities, is substantiated. It is shown that the specific requirements of railway transport for reliability and continuity of power supply in combination with unstable wind conditions require complex optimization of aerodynamic and design parameters of wind turbines. The methods of increasing the efficiency and stability of wind turbines through the use of aerodynamic means of directional formation and intensification of air flow, optimization of the shape and parameters of the blades, the use of vertical-axial structures, as well as the introduction of technical solutions aimed at improving the operational reliability of the equipment are considered. The findings confirm the expediency of introducing improved wind power plants to increase the sustainability of the energy supply to Uzbekistan's railway transport.
