Annotaciya

Increasing production and profit of the fruit and vegetable sub sector, minimizing pre and post-harvest losses, maintaining quality and storage, providing the availability of fruits and vegetables during all seasons and exporting high value products are important tasks for Uzbekistan. Well organized value chain and strong cooperation among market actors are crucial, however, it is difficult and costly for small-scale fruit and vegetable producers to participate and fulfill the value chain requirements. Lack of financial sources, land, machinery, production and market information are main limitations. The main objective of the paper is to discuss the fruit and vegetable sub-sector of Uzbekistan and analyze vegetable value chain in case of small farm.
