BASIC CONCEPTS OF CULTURAL LITERACY

Abstract
Cultural literacy is the ability to understand, interpret, and effectively interact with different cultures, as well as to be aware of cultural differences and peculiarities. It includes knowledge, respect, and understanding of the values, traditions, norms, and customs of different peoples, which is important for effective communication and mutual understanding in a diverse society. Cultural literacy is important in a globalized world where interaction with people from different cultures is becoming an integral part of everyday life.
