Abstract
The article presents the results of studying the biometric parameters and distribution architectonics of the root system of high-stemmed lemon (Citrus limon L. Burm) seedlings in soil layers for intensive lemon cultivation. During the research, the number and length of main, skeletal, semi-skeletal, and growing (fibrous) roots, as well as their spatial (vertical and horizontal) distribution, were systematically analyzed. The results showed that the development of root system fractions significantly varied across the experimental variants, with the main part of the roots (70-80%) being actively concentrated primarily at a soil depth of 10–18 cm. In the spatial orientation of the roots, the share of vertical distribution ranged from 53% to 61%, while horizontal distribution varied from 39% to 47%.
