Molecular genetic features of arterial hypertension in the aral sea region population

Аннотация
Background. Arterial hypertension (AH) is a complex, multifactorial disease that significantly contributes to cardiovascular diseases. It is particularly prevalent in the Aral Sea region, where both genetic and environmental factors play a crucial role. This study focuses on the molecular-genetic characteristics of AH in the population of this region. Materials and methods. The study was conducted on 1020 patients aged 40-70 years, diagnosed with AH at the Ellikkala District Medical Association in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Genetic analysis was performed on 407 AH patients to identify polymorphisms in key genes associated with hypertension. Results. Three significant genetic polymorphisms were identified in the AH patients: the G1675A polymorphism in the AGTR2 gene, the G460T polymorphism in the ADD1 gene, and the C704T polymorphism in the AGT gene. These polymorphisms were found to be associated with AH development in the Aral Sea region population. Conclusion. This is the first large-scale molecular-genetic study of AH in the Aral Sea region, revealing genetic markers that contribute to the high prevalence of AH in this area. These findings will help in the development of a genetic risk calculator for cardiovascular diseases specific to the region.
