Аннотация
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a prevalent cause of blindness and visual impairment in individuals over 50 years of age in economically developed countries [2, 10]. The prevalence of AMD is 14.4% among those aged 55 to 64 years, 19.4% in individuals aged 65 to 74 years, and 36.8% in those over 75 years of age [1, 12]. The recent increase in life expectancy is contributing to the rising prevalence of this condition. AMD occurs in two forms: dry and wet. The wet or neovascular form is marked by choroidal neovascularization (CNV), which presents with various complications such as edema, detachment of the neuro- and pigment epithelium, hemorrhages, and exudates, ultimately leading to vision loss [5, 7].
