Аннотация
Ethnolinguistics is an interdisciplinary field of study that focuses on the study of the relationship between language and culture. This article examines the theoretical foundations of ethnolinguistics, including key concepts, methods and research directions. An analysis of the scientific literature shows that the central concept is the hypothesis of linguistic relativity, which states that the structure of a language affects the perception and thinking of its speakers. The article is devoted to an overview of ethnolinguistic research methods, including field research, interviewing and folklore analysis. Particular attention is paid to modern trends in ethnolinguistics, such as the influence of globalization and the development of cognitive ethnolinguistics. The discussion focuses on the relevance of ethnolinguistics for understanding cultural processes through language, emphasizing the need for continued research in this area to deeply explore the relationships between language and culture.
